Sierra Vista Summer Visit 2011

July 7-9, 2011

We arrived in time to Sierra Vista for my niece Hallie's first Sierra Vista Ponytail All Star game!Keira was so excited to see her cousins Karlie and Jaycie out on the baseball fields!

Hallie warming up before the big game!

Hallie up to bat!

Cayden with his cousin Taylor watching Hallie's game!

Hallie was the starting pitcher for the S.V. Ponytail All Star games! At age 9 she is a really good pitcher!

Go Hallie!

Carson, aka "Mr. Baseball," was right there in the action watching cousin Hallie's game! I'm sure he wished that was him out there playing!

This is Papa Bear's idea of watching the softball game! Headphones in his ears and sucker in the mouth while reclined back in his lawn chair! LOL!

My Mom rode down with me from Tucson to watch the game!

Hallie getting ready to bat!

Jaycie and Keira had a good time running around in the nice cool evening weather that S.V. has during the summer! They for sure kept the concession stand in business!

Dinner time out on the baseball fields!

Keira giving Hallie some love after the game!

Carson was so excited to take an evening ride on Papa Bear's newest toy!

I found this tarantula in my dad's garage! Almost the same spot where I found a scorpion on a previous visit!

Carson loved playing with cousin Taylor's dog Gunner!

Gunner really liked playing with Carson, too! LOL! Gunner is just as tall as Carson!

Good Boy!

Gunner in "Dog Heaven" as Carson rubbed his belly! I love how Gunner just laid there with his mouth open!

My sister Karisa took us on a drive out by her house to see all the fire damage from the Monument Fire that had burned over 30,000 acres and destroyed over 65 homes and businesses in the month of June! This is the Our Lady of the Sierras Shrine that is a popular tourist attraction in the Sierra Vista mountain area! The 75 foot cross and 30 foot Madonna figure miraculously survived the fire, but the chapel was lost!

Karlie, Carson, Hallie and Brooklyn (cousin on my sisters husbands side of the family) all checking out the fire damage! This area used to be so nice and lush!

We sadly saw many homes that didn't make it through the Monument Fire and looked like this.

I thought this handmade sign thanking the firefighters who fought the Monument Fire was so nice!

We all went to "The Cove" for some indoor water fun! Carson loves the two tube slides!

Cayden did the slides over and over. The kids had fun racing each other to see who would come out first!

Keira and Karlie loved the kids area!

We went to the second night of Hallie's Ponytail All Star games and were so excited that they won game two! Our crazy bunch of cousins plus Laney a family friend!

Keira loves her cousin Hallie!

We ended night two with more rides on Papa Bear's new toy!

I love this picture of my Dad! Crazy guy!

One more ride with Papa before we headed back to Mesa!

We had a short, but great trip to Sierra Vista!
