Headless Diamondback Rattlesnake!

Vail, Arizona
July 2011

Grandpa George and Grandma Cindy were with Keira out in their backyard (open desert landscaping) on a walk when Grandpa George told Grandma Cindy and Keira not to move! My Mom and Keira didn't even see the huge Western Diamondback rattlesnake right by their feet! Scary! Grandpa George usually doesn't harm snakes, but he decided it was in everyones best interest to go and get a shovel and kill the snake! And so the snake became a headless snake! Carson and I were coming down to Tucson the next day and Carson begged Grandpa George to save the snake for him. Carson loves Diamondback Rattlesnakes and even has a fake one on display in his room!

Carson couldn't wait to get his hands on the rattlesnake!

The snake was just about as long as Carson! Crazy!

Checking out the rattle!

Carson decided he didn't need the cloth anymore to hold the snake!

I couldn't pass up the opportunity to hold the snake!

The snake skin felt so weird and it was pretty heavy!

Keira decided that she needed to check the snake out, too!

I just love how Keira can be a girly girl, but can hang right with her brothers and other little boys and do what they do!

Carson was going to where the snake around his neck until he realized that it had stuff dripping from where its head used to be! LOL!
