Cayden, cousin, Hallie, and Carson getting ready to tour the Titan Missile Museum. This is the only place in the country where you can take a tour of a former Titan II nuclear missile site!
A view of the missile complex we toured 35 feet underground! It was awesome.
A view of the Titan II missile from outside on top of the launch duct! This missile is massive.
Headed down under 35 feet to the missile complex.
We felt quite safe down under with the 8-foot thick walls and 3-ton blast doors. It was interesting to hear about what it was like for those that worked here.
Hallie and Carson in the launch control center found out what it felt like to have their finger on the button of a nuclear missile! They were asked to be Missile Combat Crew Commanders in the simulated launch and had the big job of turning the key to launch the missile. I can't even imagine having this job:-)
Carson, Cayden and Hallie in the launch control room. Carson and Hallie are proudly displaying their I turned the key badges!
Cayden and I underground on the second level of the launch duct looking at the missile!
The missile was too large to get a picture of the whole thing from underground, but here is the head of it.
Back up on top checking the rocket engines out that were used on the Titan missile.
