Cayden for Trea$urer!

2011-2012 Student Council Election
May 5 - May 12

Cayden's Campaign Headquarters! My Sister, Abby, came over for an entire day to help us make campaign posters (thank you Abby)! All the posters looked awesome!

Cayden's campaign slogan was "Show Me the Money"! All his posters were blinged out with coins and fake money! Everyone loved his campaign posters at school!

Cayden and I went bright and early before school two different days to get all his posters up! We had to bring a ruler to make sure that his posters were at least 12" away from any other candidate's poster!

The Official Ballot!

May 12, 2011, Speech and Election Day! Cayden and the other 3 candidates vying for 6th grade Treasurer!

All 16 canudate's lined up in front of the school waiting to give their speeches! Cayden is one lucky boy to be surrounded by all those girls!

Cayden giving his speech to the student body!

Cayden's did such a great job on his speech! His speech was fun! Public speaking is not usually Cayden's thing, but you never would of known it!

All the candidates after their speeches getting direction from Mr. Heaton (one of the teachers over Student Council) on how the voting and results will go!

Carson was so excited to have me take him out of school so he could come watch Cayden give his speech and help me take some pictures, too!

Cayden came to me one day and told me that he wanted to run for Treasurer at school! I was really excited to hear this since Cayden is a very shy kid! Cayden had to write a speech as to why he wanted to run for Treasurer, get teacher and two other recommendations, and turn in his grades for review! He was so excited to find out that he was selected to be a candidate in the 2011-2012 student council election! I'm so proud of Cayden and the fact that he was the only boy selected to run for any office in this year's election at his school! I was talking to one of the Student Council teachers and he told me that there were other boys that wanted to run for office, but they weren't selected after looking at their grades and teacher recommendations! Cayden ran a great campaign and showed lots of courage, but he didn't win! However, Cayden did earn a place in Student Council for the upcoming school year and gets to do all the fun stuff and not have to worry about all the money! Congratulations, Cayden!
