I'm bringing skinny back!

I'm bringing skinny back! Oh, and sexy too:)
Thank you Movin 97.5 and Medshape Weight Loss Clinic for a challenge of a lifetime!
The four alternates! I bet they are praying for one of us to drop out, but they still get to participate for free (just not a chance at the $5,000 Shopping Spree)!
We shall call this team...... The LOSERS! Good luck team Nina!
Baby got back! Team Lucas is going to Kick Some BOOTY! Go team!
Just call us the WINNERS! Pictured left from right: Nicole, Brett, Lisa, Bruce, Me (Jaime) and Lukas. Imagine us 40 pounds lighter in just 8 weeks (on average that is what is lost if you follow the plan)!

Where do I start? This past week has been both busy (what's new) and exciting! I'll try to be brief , but I have so much to say:) Please excuse all grammar errors. Back at the beginning of August my sister MacKenzie sent me an email telling me about a contest through one of our favorite radio stations MOVIN 97.5! MacKenzie thought that if I told them my story I would be picked (Thank you Big Sis for your confidence in me)! The contest I entered was Lukas & Nina's MOVIN Into Shape Challenge with Medshape Weight Loss Clinic. If you had at least 30 pounds to loose, wanted the chance to win a free 8 week medically supervised diet challenge, and shopping spree then this contest was for you! Yes, this contest had my name written all over it. As many of you know, I have struggled with my weight off and on for about 8 years. I gain 30 pounds then loose 30 pounds, I am the text book description of a Yo-Yo dieter. If you were to take a look in my messy closet, you would find everything from a size 4 to 18. My desire is to loose 50 pounds and get back to the weight I was before giving birth to my youngest child, Keira (she is two, I can't use the "I just had a baby" excuse anymore)! Anyways, I filled out the online application that asked some questions on my height and weight (yes, I told the truth) and then I was able to tell them my story and why I wanted to participate (I will post that later)! I thought that all the chubby people in Phoenix would be entering and I would probably never hear anything back on this. Boy, was I wrong!

On Friday, August 22nd my phone rings, I look at the caller ID and it shows MOVIN Radio is calling! My heart starts beating fast and I pick up the phone with a great big hello! The voice on the other end tells me that I have been chosen as 1 of 32 finalist from approximately 750 applicants for final consideration in the MOVIN into Shape Challenge! Wow! The next step was to go down to Medshape Weight Loss Clinic on Monday,August 25th for an orientation, medical evaluation and final interview with the clinic and Movin 97.5. At the meeting it was made known that they were going to choose 5 contenders on Team Lukas to go pound for pound against 5 contenders on Team Nina for bragging rights and a $5,000 Shopping Spree Grand Prize for the winning Team ($1,000 each)! Four alternate positions would be chosen as well. That meant that I had to beat out 22 other contestants. After the meeting and interview I knew without a doubt that I was up for the challenge and ready to start loosing the weight:) I had to wait a grueling 2 days before I got the call on Wednesday, August 27th that I was waiting for! Once again it was good news from MOVIN 97.5! I made a team! Yes, I made a team!

Next step was to fast for 12 hours and then go down on Thursday, August 28th to Sonoran Quest Laboratories and get my blood drawn (courtesy of the contest sponsors)! It took a record breaking time of 10 minutes to find a vein to poke. My blood was tested to check my triglycerides, thyroid, cholesterol, etc.! Saturday, August 30th was the official weigh in day (their scale told me I was two pounds heavier than mine), team assignments, contract signing, before pictures and pep talks. It's official, I'm a proud member of team Lukas or you can just call us the WINNERS!

The Challenge officially starts on Monday, September 1 (I have two days left to "PIG OUT") and will last until Saturday, October 25! Listen to Lukas & Nina on Movin 97.5 this Tuesday, September 2, 2008 on their morning show from 5-10 am for the kick off. I will be on the air sometime around 6:40 am and 7:15 am! Lukas & Nina will be calling all ten of us to check in and see how we are doing on our diets every Monday morning there after. All team members will weigh in every Saturday morning. Stay tuned............ the battle is on!!!!
PS Send me some skinny vibes, vegetables and fruit too!

We love cupcakes!

Little Miss Cupcake!
Got Frosting?
Little Miss Cupcake gone Wild!
Now that was a good treat! Wash me up, I'm ready for a nap.

Who doesn't love cupcakes? Exactly. We had to have a cupcake fix this past week at the Fryer house! I enjoy making homemade cupcakes, but on this day we bought some yummy ones from Bashas'! Keira, Carson and I scarfed down a few chocolate cupcake in no time at all! I wiped the mess up and left the kiddos to watch TV while I cleaned (story of my life) around the house. It became very, very quiet. Mothers know that when the house is quiet it almost always spells TROUBLE! I came back to the kitchen to find Little Miss Cupcake on the kitchen floor in cupcake Heaven! The two cupcakes that I managed to save for Cayden and Mark had been eaten. All that was left...... a mess, and one happy little girl!

10 Years, and Counting!

Ten years ago, Mark and I were married for Time and All Eternity in the Mesa, Arizona Temple!
August 13, 1998! Oh To be young and in love!
The wedding party before our reception at the Lakeside Officers Club on Fort Huachuca, Arizona. We just barely missed the monsoon storm!
Our "Feeding the Cake to Each Other" act! I got Mark good!
Our first dance as a married couple was to 'When you love Someone' by Bryan Adams! Check the song out on my play list! As we danced hundreds of balloons fell down on us! After our dance, all of our family and friends danced the night away to DJ "Mad Dog"!

We've survived 10 years, but first a trek down memory lane! Mark and I met in January of 1997 at Ricks College (BYU Idaho) in Rexburg, Idaho! I met him on a double date that I went on with his roommate Dave and my friend Heather went on with Mark! I never knew Mark existed before our double date. Dave stopped calling me after that date and Mark started calling me instead! It was love at first sight! Mark and I were inseparable from there on out! We had a long distant relationship for awhile as Mark went on to BYU in Provo, Utah and I stayed behind at Ricks to receive my Associates degree. We married 19 months later and made our first home in Provo, Utah! Ahhh...memory lane!

10 years and 3 beautiful children later, Mark and I are enjoying married life, most of the time that is!

Cayden's favorite subject in school is Reading and he enjoys Library day!
Carson is in his second year of preschool! You got to love his blue spiked hair!
Carson gets to ride the bus since his preschool is at our local Elementary school! Carson loves singing and craft time at school!

Summer break has come and gone! Where did the time go? Cayden and Carson's first day of school was August 6! Both of them were pumped and ready to go after attending "Meet the Teacher Night" at their schools on August 4. Cayden catches his bus around 7:30 am and Carson's bus comes to get him around 8:30 am! The two of them are excited about the new school year and so am I. I hope they have a great learning experience!

Visiting Sierra Vista, Arizona - Home Sweet Home!

Several Mountain ranges surround Sierra Vista. The picturesque setting confirms its Spanish name meaning Mountain View (Sierra Vista)! This picture was taken out in Hereford where my sister Karisa, her husband Justin and their four kids reside! They live on eight acres and enjoy having their peace and quiet (outside the house that is) and no neighbors. Talk about the middle of nowhere, but it sure is beautiful.
Cayden and cousin Hallie taking advantage of the wonderful weather (20 degrees cooler than Mesa) at a park in Sierra Vista!
Keira hanging from the bar! My kids were so excited to play at this fun park. It is way too hot to go outside and play in Mesa!
This is Carson with Papa Bear's crazy bird, Gobo Fango! Gobo is a DOUBLE YELLOW-HEADED AMAZON bird! This bird is a hoot! Gobo sings, cries, laughs, screams and talks non stop and it all sounds just like a human! Gobo loves when the grand kids come around and competes with them to see who can be more noisier. We love this bird!
Cayden swimming in Sierra Vista!
Keira and cousin Hallie in the play pool! Hallie is so good to Keira. She will make a great Mom one day!
Carson and cousin Taylor! Peace!
My little swim baby, Keira!
Carson loves going to Papa's house to play with his remote control truck! Papa has two big empty dirt lots next to his house and Carson will drive the truck over there until its battery dies! Papa has learned to have the truck charged and ready for when Carson arrives!
Sierra Vista is located 75 miles Southeast of Tucson. The city is adjacent to the Fort Huachuca Army Base, an active and historical Military Base. I grew up as an "Army Brat", and the military is what brought my parents to Sierra Vista. My Dad (Papa Bear) has since retired from the Army and has never left Sierra Vista. My sister Karisa and husband Justin moved back to Sierra Vista four years ago. Papa Bear treated us to a real good time while in Sierra Vista. He took us out to eat at Buffalo Wild Wings, Texas Road House and of course Peter Piper Pizza. Papa even cooked us a nice meal too! The kids enjoyed playing outside in Papa's yard, riding around in his truck, playing his Playstation 3, watching movies, hanging out with the Haymore cousins and going to visit Bisbee! Thanks Papa for spoiling us on our fun trip to Sierra Vista. We will be back soon!

Discovering the wonders of Bisbee, Arizona

Carson sitting on top of the Mule pass tunnel - the entrance to Bisbee!
Cayden, Carson & Keira strolling the charming streets of Bisbee.
Crazy Carson and his Super Sized Lollipop! Thanks Diane.
We all had fun checking out the many art galleries, speciality and antique shops! Check this art out! Carson found it very interesting.
Papa Bear and Keira taking a little rest from strolling the streets of Bisbee.
Only in Bisbee, Arizona will you see something like this. Carson wanted me to buy this car. Hopefully, my kids don't get any ideas and decorate my mini-van!
The Lavender Pit is a former open pit copper mine near Bisbee.
The kids found this steep pit to be very interesting! They were even a little scared up against the railing. Cayden wasn't liking me taking his picture this day! He told me I was "obsessed" with taking pictures and to stop! Funny kid.

Last month the kids and I took a road trip down to Sierra Vista to see Papa Bear and my sister Karisa and her family! Papa Bear took us on a day trip to experience Bisbee and its unique charm. I have been there many times, but it was fun for the kids to see it all for the first time! A day in Bisbee is like stepping back 100 years. It is a great town to take in the history of the old west and to see the works of artists of today. It is a small town that has its roots in mining. Bisbee has long been known as “The Queen of the Mining Camps”. The town of Bisbee and its
cafes, galleries and antique shops are a must see!

Hola, July 7, we crossed the border with some of the Fryer family (19 total) and found ourselves in Puerto Penasco (Rocky Point), Sonora, Mexico! We spent four days on the beach, in the pool and around town shopping and eating at various Mexican Restaurants! All of us had so much fun as a family and can't wait to go back real soon! We are so lucky to have the beach only 3 1/2 hours south of us! Adios!
