Second Annual Valentine's Weekend Staycation

Downtown Phoenix
Day 1
February 11, 2011

We kicked off our Second Annual Valentine's Weekend Staycation with dinner at our favorite downtown Phoenix Mexican Restaurant, America's Taco Shop!

We ate our favorite Carne Asada and Bean & Cheese Burritos, America's Corn and Cheese Quesadillas!

We stayed at our usual spot, the Hyatt Regency in downtown Phoenix! As always, we spent lots of time riding up and down in the great glass elevator checking out the cool views! The kids love the feeling when the elevator shoots them up to the 24th floor!

We hit the streets of downtown Phoenix to do some sightseeing and get some dessert at the Arizona Center! The kids found the naked statues once again outside the Herberger Theater! They laughed as hard as they did the first time seeing these pieces of art! LOL!

Cayden really liked this statue! LOL!

Thanks to the Downtown Phoenix Ambassadors (orange-shirt wearing, walking information concierges) we got to ride Ollie The Trolley around the downtown area for FREE! The Trolley runs from 7pm-2:30 am on weekends and is always free! We basically had Ollie all to ourselves!

Our family had so much fun riding around in the Trolley with our very own tour guide (Downtown Phoenix Ambassador) and being educated about all the history and fun things in the downtown Phoenix area!

Cayden's Cub Scout Achievements

February 9, 2011
Cayden earned his Webelos Badge and Arrow of Light Award back in November! Cayden received both awards at the Blue and Gold Banquet in February!

I got to paint Cayden's face up for his Webelos Badge!

Did I do a great painting job or what?!

Cayden receiving his Arrow of Light Award from Mark!

Cayden with his Arrow of Light Award! He could not stand all the paint on his face and washed it all off before the meeting was over!

Children's Museum of Phoenix

Carson's First Grade Field Trip

Ms. Arroyo's class and the chaperones on the bus ride to Phoenix! Yep, that's me on the left!

Carson, Jonathon, Ms. Arroyo, Nate and Matthew being silly on the bus!

Carson ready for a fun day at the museum!

My group for the day: Olivia, Carson, Keira and Isaac! What a fun bunch of kids:-)

The Children's Museum of Phoenix is the former Monroe Elementary School built back in 1913! It must of been awesome to go to school in this huge three-story building!

Isaac and Carson painting the castle! In this area the kiddos did a bunch of hands-on art activities!

Isaac and Carson put on a puppet show!

The awesome three-story climber! The kids and even I had a fun time climbing around in this! We could of spent all day in this area!

Isaac and Carson in the climber.

I took some time to relax in the Flying Bathtub that hangs off the second-story of the climber!

The kiddos had fun feeding scarves into the air-powered tubes and then catching them as they were shot out!

The kiddos with the Tooth Fairy!

The Tooth Fairy put on a puppet show. I had to laugh at how Carson is actually laying down in this picture and watching the show!

Carson and Isaac were selected to participate in the Tooth Fairy's show!

The Noodle Forest was a ton of fun! There was noodles hanging everywhere!

The Pit Stop was a fun area where kids could race cars on racetracks! The highlight of the area for Carson was the real motorcycle!

Music time!

Carson and friends loved riding tricycles through the trike wash!

Armani and Carson outside the museum eating lunch and playing!

Ms. Arroyo and Carson!

My little guy and I!

Silly kids!

Jonathon and Carson!

The view from the front steps of the Children's Museum of Phoenix! Carson was excited to tell everyone that hotel with the spinning roof is where he gets to stay sometimes and was going to be staying the next weekend for D-backs Fan Fest!

The bus ride home was a little crazy! Love Ms. Arroyo and Halie's hair!

Babysitting Miss Daisy!

Keira has fallen in love with her pre-school teacher's dog, Daisy! She looks forward to seeing and playing with Daisy every Tuesday and Thursday. Keira always asks her teacher to bring Daisy over to our house to play! LOL! Ms. Kathrine was going to be out of town one weekend and asked Keira to babysit Daisy! I couldn't deny Keira this opportunity and let Daisy stay at our house from Friday morning until Saturday evening! It was fun to watch Daisy, but it reminded me why we only had a dog for a few short months before giving it away! The kids would love to have a dog, but I think dog sitting is the way to go!

Keira took Miss Daisy on lots of walks!

Keira took her to the neighborhood parks!

Daisy went down the slides a few times!

Umm, I about died when I saw Keira checking Daisy's little booty out! LOL!

Keira treated Daisy just like a little baby!

Poor Daisy was probably ready to go home and get some rest after all the attention she got at our house!

Carson loved playing with Daisy, too!
