12 Years!

Anniversary Trip!
August 13, 2010, Day One:
Los Angeles and Hollywood, California!

Our Hotel the Westin Bonaventure in downtown Los Angeles! This is the coolest looking hotel I have ever stayed in! This place has been featured in the movie Rain Man, Forget Paris, In the Line of Fire, Nick of Time, True Lies and many more!

Our first stop of the day, baseball's third-oldest stadium, Dodger Stadium!

Many of you know that Mark is a "Ballpark Chaser" and has a life-goal of visiting all the MLB ballparks. He can now check Dodger Stadium off his list!

Mark and I signed up and did the Dodger Stadium Tour! Here I am in the Vin Scully Press Box!

A D-back fan on Dodger Field!

So cool that some of the greatest players in baseball have stood right here!

A visit into the Dodger Dugout!

It was so much fun to do the behind-the-scenes tour and visit some of the most restricted and non-public areas in Dodger Stadium!

The views were awesome at the stadium! That is downtown L.A. behind Mark!

Next stop, Chinatown-Los Angeles, to the birth place of the French dipped sandwich, Philippe The Original! After seeing this place on Man v. Food, we knew we had to eat here!

Philippe French Dipped Sandwich, pickles, coleslaw, potato salad, fresh lemonade and homemade pie! Yep, we ate it all and it was worth every calorie! Best french dipped sandwich I have ever had! Loved their special hot mustard sauce on my sandwich! This place is delicious, but be prepared to wait in a long line! http://www.philippes.com/

We made our way to the home of the stars, HOLLYWOOD! Mark couldn't resist comparing his shoe size to Actor, Will Smiths, at the famous Grauman's Chinese Theatre!

I found the legendary, Marilyn Monroe's hand prints and autograph!

Kodak Theatre is home to the Academy Awards and the American Idols finals!

I Found Mickey in Hollywood!

We did the famous Walk of Fame down Hollywood Boulevard! It was so fun searching for some of our favorite stars! I found one of my favorites, Sandra Bullock! Love her!

The world famous Hollywood sign in the distance!

Mark and Shrek! Which one is the Ogre? Haha!

Mickey Mouse's star on the Walk of Fame! I love Mickey!

Mark and I were determined to get an up close view of the HOLLYWOOD sign! We drove through the windy Hollywood Hills and made it to the closest place you can view the sign without going to jail! It is actually illegal to hike to the protected sign!

Mark determined to get a little closer to the Hollywood sign!

We ended our Anniversary with dinner at Bottega Louie http://bottegalouie.com/ in down town L.A.! This place is one of the hottest places to eat in down town so there was quite a wait. We decided to hit up their bakery and order some macarons and a chocolate peanut butter tart before dinner! I think desert should always come first! Haha! Check out our Portobello fries! They were amazing!

I don't know what looks better, my hubby of 12 years or our pizza?

In August Mark and I celebrated 12 years of marriage! We decided to drive over to California and spend a few days to celebrate our anniversary! As always, we had such a fun time together eating and sightseeing! Even though we missed our kiddos, it was great to get away!

The families of the Astronauts get to watch the launch of the space shuttle from the top of this NASA building!

STS-129, Space Shuttle Atlantis, had just been moved to the launching pad a few days before our visit and was launched a month later! What an awesome sight!

Largest rocket ever made, Saturn V-Apollo 11! Don't know how this ever made it off the ground!

Love my little Astronauts faces in this picture!
