Cochise County Cinderella

Sierra Vista
February 20, 2010

Keira with cousin, Karlie, before the program started.

Keira and cousin, Hallie, the 2009 Cochise County Cinderella Miniature Miss.

Cayden, Hallie and Keira.

Blame it on the crazy Goodsell genes!

Cayden, Karlie and Keira.

She won! Congratulations to Karlie on winning the Cochise County Cinderella Tot title out of 20 contestants in her division.

Keira was so excited for Karlie! She loves her cousins so much.

The beautiful view of the Huachuca Mountains in Sierra Vista from Papa Bear's front yard.

For the fourth year in a row, we attended the 28TH Annual Cochise County Cinderella Pageant to cheer on my two nieces, Hallie and Karlie. It's hard to believe that I competed and won the title of Cochise County Cinderella Teen back in 1991 (19 years ago)! It is so fun to go back each year and catch up with many of the girls I competed with over the years, their mothers and now their daughters who are competing. What great memories I have of the time I spent competing in the Cinderella Scholarship Program. Congratulations to my niece, Karlie, for winning on her first try and to my niece, Hallie, for a successful year representing her title. I can't wait to head back to the Arizona State Finals this June in Laughlin to support my nieces! I need to brush up on my Cindy Disco moves! Step to the front, step to the back and pull, pull, pull, pull, roll, roll, roll, roll, roll, roll, roll............... LOL!

2010 Diamondbacks Fan Fest

Saturday, February 13, 2010

Carson getting his ball autographed by Starting Pitcher Dan Haren. All we had to do was eat at Subway and save our receipts! That wasn't hard for us to do since we eat at Subway on a weekly basis. Thanks Subway!

Carson and Mark with Derrick Hall the President and CEO of the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Carson and Josh Byrnes the General Manager of the Arizona Diamondbacks. Mark asked him to keep Stephen Drew around since Carson is his #1 fan!

Carson sneaking an autograph from Pitcher Brandon Webb! Go Carson!

All the D-back baseball addicts, Carson included!

Carson still thinks D. Baxter the Bobcat Rocks! Keira wanted nothing to do with Baxter at Fan Fest. It took almost all last season for her to get the courage to have him autograph her jersey and take a picture with him.

Carson getting some instruction on catching fly balls in left field.

I couldn't pull Carson away from the line drive alley. He loved how the balls came flying right for him!

Our future Arizona Rally-back, Keira.

Carson listening to Catcher Miguel Montero give an interview in Spanish! Not like he understood a word they were saying. LOL!

A few crazy D-back Fans!

Carson chasing after Outfielder Justin Upton.

A boy can dream!

Little girls love baseball, too!

Mama in the D-backs Dugout!

Cayden and his barf bag! Poor kid.

Saturday morning when we were getting ready for our second annual D-backs Fan Fest, Cayden started throwing up in the hotel bathroom. Darn it. We were glad that he at least got to have a ton of fun the night before in downtown Phoenix, but were sad for him because we were headed over to the D-back Fan Fest for the day. Mark and Carson went over to the Fan Fest while Keira and I stayed back with sick Cayden. Keira and I eventually made it downstairs to get some breakfast while Cayden slept. Thank goodness for noon check out! We were going to stay another night in downtown Phoenix, but decided to bag it since Cayden was not feeling good. At noon we walked over to CHASE Field. Cayden carried a barf bag and was such a trooper! Mark sat out front of the stadium with Cayden once I got there since he had already been hanging out with all the other D-back fans for three hours. Keira and I were able to explore the Fan Fest with Carson! Carson was so bummed to find out that his favorite D-back player, Stephen Drew, didn't make the Fan Fest due to bad weather back East and his flight being cancelled. Oh well, Carson has the next few months to stalk him. LOL! Mark's favorite part of the day was the D-backs Yard sale (my hubby loves to shop)! Thanks to Mark, we all came home with a bunch of new D-back memorabilia and paid next to nothing for it:-) Yeah! I can't wait to use my new D-back beach towel. Ha ha. Our family all had such a good time at Fan Fest and can't wait for the 2010 baseball season to start. Spring training here we come!

Valentine's Weekend Staycation!

Downtown Phoenix

Dinner and Drinks (Mexican Coke) at America's Taco Shop off 7th Street in Phoenix!

Say Coca-Cola and Chips!
Mark and I are obsessed with Elote (Mexican Corn)! America's Corn is sweet white corn on the cob, mayo, cojita cheese, chili sauce and lime! I could live off this stuff:-)

Our awesome hotel, the Hyatt Regency in Downtown Phoenix (thank you priceline for a great deal). The highlight of staying at the Hyatt was the glass elevator! We rode the elevator to the top and were treated to the best view in the city from the Compass Restaurant. This is a beautiful revolving restaurant at the very top of the hotel. You can literally see the entire city from there. We wanted to have dessert (the only thing we could afford on the menu) in the restaurant, but it was completely booked since it was Valentine's weekend. Fortunately for us, they were cool enough to let us just take a stroll around the restaurant and have a look at the view for a few minutes…totally worth it!

The elevator to take you to your room is glass, and it’s quite a rush to shoot up to your floor while looking out. The kids said it was just like riding Disney's "Tower of Terror"! We were on the 19th floor and I lost track how many times we rode the elevator up and down! The kids loved it:-)

We hit the town and walked over to the Arizona Center for some shopping and ice cream. The kids couldn't believe that there is such a thing as Horse Cops!

It was so darn funny to see these horses taking a break at the Starbucks! The cops were so nice to let the kids pet their horses!

The kids had some good laughs at all the "naked people" out front of The Herberger Theater! It was such a fun experience for the kids to walk around the downtown Phoenix area!

We ended the night with some hot tubing at the Hyatt!

Carson, Mark and Keira relaxing! Cayden was in "No Picture" mode, but was there with us!

Keira and Carson even got in the heated pool and went for a swim!

The "No Chew Crew" sporting their club shirts! These two went to bed with Arizona Diamondbacks on their mind because in the morning was the D-backs Fan Fest!

We had the LOVE-liest Valentine's weekend together as a family. Mark planned such a fun staycation for our family for Valentine's Day! It was so relaxing to get away and explore the downtown Phoenix area. We can't wait to go back and do it again!

"Will You Be My Valentine?"

Presented by the Kindergarten Classes
February 12, 2010

"Skinnamarink" featuring Ms. B.'s class! Carson is on the floor (first child to the left of music teacher) playing the hand drum.

The Kindergartners singing their little hearts out! Carson is left center, fourth row up from his music teacher, first kiddo!

Miss B. taking a picture with her cute Kindergartners after their awesome music program! Carson is right in front of his teacher.

Sweet Keira giving Carson some love after the program!

Keira and Ava enjoyed the music program so much that they sat in their seats and didn't move. I have been babysitting Ava while her regular babysitter is on maternity leave.

Skinnamarink, Love Somebody, Little and Lots, My Valentine, Making Valentines and You are My Sunshine were the sweet songs sung by the four Kindergarten Classes at Carson's school! Carson was told not to sing the songs at home so that it would be a surprise at the show, but he just couldn't resist singing a line or two here and there! The Kindergartners looked so cute dressed in their matching Valentine shirts (Carson couldn't wait to take his off)! It was so nice to hear my little man and his classmates sing their hearts out! I couldn't help, but get a little teary eyed.

"You My Sunshine" by the Kindergartners! The video is blurry, but you can at least hear the kiddos sweet voices singing!

January Madness!

I had the opportunity to judge the Queen Creek Cinderella Scholarship Program with my BFF Diane and sister, Karisa! We are pictured at the backstage interviews with my niece, Hallie, who is the Cochise County Cinderella Miniature Miss. Thank you Emily for asking me to judge, I had a great time!
The judges and tabulator, Moniece, at the Queen Creek Performing Arts Center! My sisters and I spent many years competing in the Arizona Cinderella Program. It is fun to come back and judge this great program for girls of all ages!

2010 Queen Creek Royalty with the judges! What a beautiful and talented group of girls. Congrats to all the contestants, you're all winners! To learn more about the Arizona Cinderella Scholarship Program check out their website: http://www.arizonacinderella.com/

Carson kicked off a new soccer season!

Carson moved up to U8 Soccer (6-7 year olds) and is playing for the Jaguars! He thinks Coach Jack is awesome and loves playing with his teammates!

Keira's friend, Ava, showed up at our door dressed like this! I just had to take a picture of Ava with Keira since our whole house was busting up laughing! What a silly little Princess!

Mark and I with Blaine (black team) from "The Biggest Loser," Season 7! We had the opportunity to hear Blaine speak at our church about his awesome experience while on the Biggest Loser TV show! It was very inspiring to hear Blaine talk about his weight loss journey and relate it to our church and the scriptures! I loved hearing about all the behind the scenes stuff that we don't get to see on TV! Oh, did I mention Mark and I are huge Biggest Loser fans?! We live for Tuesday nights!

Carson at Toni & Guy Hairdressing Academy getting a shoe shine (highlights) and hair cut from Aunt MacKenzie (my sis)!

Carson thought it was so funny that he had to wear a shower cap! LOL! He had some bonding time with the manikin while his hair was processing.

Carson with his new hair cut and color! Mark now calls him Vanilla Ice! Ice Ice baby...........

After Carson and the Jaguars lost their first soccer game, Carson was determined to score a goal and win a game! Well, this is what Carson was doing at home before his second game. He wasn't watching cartoons, but got out a notebook and was drawing some game plays of him scoring! I love it!!

Carson not only scored a goal, but the Jaguars won their second game! Go Jaguars!

Vanilla Ice just chillin after his game! Carson gets pretty dirty at his games!

The madness never ends at the Fryer house!
